How Manai works
Choose background music that serves your practice
Manai supports background music alongside narrated guided practices. You can request a suitable atmosphere, choose from available sound options, and adjust the balance with the voice. Start with what you want the sound to do: accompany a reflection, support an imagined setting, or simply leave room for the words.
Sound has a job
For a presentation rehearsal, a dramatic musical build may pull attention away from the sentence you are practicing. For a quiet visualization, a steady background may feel more fitting than a melody you want to follow.
Our position is that music should support the activity the listener is doing. More layers do not automatically make a more personal experience. Silence can also be a deliberate choice.
Describe the atmosphere in usable terms
Illustrative request:
Add a soft, steady background to my evening transition meditation. Keep it below the narration, avoid sudden changes, and leave the voice easy to understand. I want the ending to feel unhurried rather than triumphant.
“Soft and steady” gives a clearer direction than “the perfect healing frequency.” You can also say which sounds distract you. If you prefer no music, request a voice-only practice.
Music and sound effects are separate choices. A continuous background sets an atmosphere; an occasional cue marks a moment. Avoid adding a cue simply because it is available, especially when it would interrupt a quiet interval.
Test the balance where you will listen
Listen at a comfortable volume on the headphones or speaker you expect to use. If the voice is hard to follow, lower the background rather than raising the entire mix. Review the quietest spoken section, not only the opening.
A saved practice can become familiar partly through its sound. Keep a version you enjoy returning to. If the atmosphere starts to feel distracting, change that part instead of discarding a script that still serves you.
Frequently asked questions
Can I listen without background music?
Yes. Ask for narration without music. For an interval with no audio at all, also specify that background sound should not continue during the pause.
Can I request a particular atmosphere?
You can describe the atmosphere you want and choose supported available options. A request is not a guarantee that any named commercial song is available.
Is one musical frequency best for visualization?
This guide does not establish a special frequency that optimizes visualization or guarantees a change in state. Start with comfort, clear narration, and the space you need to imagine.
Will changing music change my script?
Background sound and spoken content are different parts of the practice. Be clear whether you want a sound adjustment, a wording revision, or both, and review the updated recording.
