Your state of mind

Practice the state you want to return to

Manai is an app for practicing a change in state through personal guided experiences. Begin with how you feel and choose a direction: scattered toward present, defensive toward open, or uncertain toward prepared. Create something that speaks to your life, or return to a saved practice that already resonates. A particular emotional result is not guaranteed.

A state is a starting point, not a verdict

You can feel sad without making sadness your identity. You can feel tense and still decide that the next useful direction is steadiness rather than happiness.

That distinction matters to Manai. The app’s purpose is to help you practice a chosen way of meeting a moment, using words, memories, values, and images that mean something to you.

Think of a tuning fork as a metaphor: a familiar reference you return to. Manai does not literally tune a biological frequency. The reference might be the feeling of listening well, a phrase that steadies you, or a memory of being supported.

Name the direction in your own language

“Calm” may mean different things to different people. For one person it means slowing down; for another it means speaking firmly without shouting.

Illustrative request:

I feel wound up after a difficult call. I want to become steady enough to answer one email without carrying the argument into it. Create six minutes of guidance using simple words and a familiar image of setting a cup on my desk. Leave room to choose my first sentence.

The personal detail is the bridge between the feeling and the next moment. Meditation, visualization, gentle movement, or another suitable format can carry the practice.

Creating is one route; returning is another

Some moments call for fresh guidance. Others call for the recording you already know. Save practices you want to recognize and reuse. You do not need a new insight every time you want to settle.

After listening, ask what actually changed. Perhaps you are still upset but less ready to send a sharp reply. Perhaps nothing shifted and you want a different approach. Neither response needs to be rewritten into a success story.

Frequently asked questions

What does “change state” mean here?

It means practicing a shift in attention, felt experience, or readiness to respond. The direction is yours to choose; it is not a diagnosis or a promise of instant transformation.

Do I have to turn negative thoughts into positive ones?

No. A useful shift might be from harsh language to fairer language, or from confusion to one clearer question. You can acknowledge a difficult feeling without pretending.

Why does personal meaning matter to Manai?

It gives the practice something concrete to work with. A real memory, belief, or situation can change the script and make it more relevant to your intention. Relevance is not a guarantee of effectiveness.

What if I do not feel different afterward?

Notice that honestly. You can shorten the practice, change the wording, use a saved alternative, or stop. A guided recording is one form of support, not a requirement to produce a certain feeling.
