Use Manai alongside The Power of Awareness

Use Manai alongside The Power of Awareness by creating an original imagined scene that expresses how you want to see yourself in a chosen moment. Describe the perspective, language, and behavior that matter to you. Manai can turn that brief into guided audio you can revise and revisit.

Disclosure: An independent Manai companion with original examples. Manai is not affiliated with or endorsed by the author, publisher, or their teaching organizations. The practice is not an official meditation or a substitute for the original work.

The book’s premise and our application

Neville Goddard’s The Power of Awareness explores the relationship between consciousness, thought, feeling, and experienced reality. The Tarcher edition described by Penguin Random House presents his claim that changing inner perspective can reshape outer circumstances. That is the book’s metaphysical position, not a demonstrated outcome of using Manai.

Our application takes a narrower question from that starting point: What would an ordinary moment look like if I approached it from a different view of myself?

Our take: give a chosen self-view somewhere to act

“I am capable” is broad. “I can enter a room as someone who has a useful contribution” gives the idea a situation. The scene does not need applause, a promotion, or a dramatic transformation.

Choose a quality you want to practice, then make its expression observable. A sense of being useful might appear as offering to carry something, asking an informed question, or explaining one point clearly. Your scene can include uncertainty; confidence does not require knowing everything.

Illustrative Manai request:

Create a seven-minute original imagination practice about joining a neighborhood volunteer project. Help me imagine arriving as someone who can contribute while still learning. Include introducing myself, asking where help is needed, and doing one manageable task. Use warm, ordinary language and quiet gaps. End with one real step I could take this week.

This is an example written for this article. It is not a passage, official exercise, or recording from the book.

Build the recording around the perspective you chose

Give Manai the details that make the scene recognizable: a place like yours, a natural way of speaking, and an action that feels possible. Request an available narrator and enough silence to imagine participating.

Review the script for language that gives you agency. Replace “everyone immediately admires me” with something about your own participation. Save the finished practice if you want to return to that perspective.

Our self-concept guide develops the connection between a self-view and ordinary behavior. The Neville overview provides a broader introduction to using his ideas independently.

Frequently asked questions

Which edition is this companion referencing?

The linked Tarcher edition was published in 2012 and includes Awakened Imagination as a bonus work. This page applies the stated perspective-and-consciousness premise of The Power of Awareness, not the complete contents of either book.

Does an imagined scene prove something will happen?

No. A meaningful inner experience is different from evidence about a future event. Other people and external circumstances remain outside the recording’s control.

Can I choose a different self-view?

Yes. Try a quality with a concrete expression: patient while learning, clear when asking, or generous while helping. Use words that make sense to you rather than borrowing an impressive label.

Is this the same as following Neville’s complete method?

No. It is an independent original practice inspired by an attributed idea. Read the book for the author’s full teaching and its distinctions. Manai supplies personal guided audio from your brief.
